From inputs to finished products
Capacity, purchases and production costs in one calculation.
Company and buildings
Tree accumulation in a Forest nursery requires a separate model. Self-produced Tree and dependent chains are not calculated here. Tree can be included as a purchased input.
Products and materials
Prices are per unit. Qn requires inputs of at least Q(n−1). Required quality decreases by one at each production step. Output enables a separate calculation column. Disabled products remain in the table only when required by an enabled chain; Produce / Buy selects their source for that chain.
Updating prices and resetting manual values
The ↶ button next to a price restores VWAP. Manual prices are saved separately for each realm, resource and quality. Market updates preserve them.
All styles, scripts and initial data are embedded in this HTML. Open it in your browser to update recipes, rates for the current economy phase and previous-day VWAPs automatically from external servers.
SimcoTools does not allow direct browser access from every origin. Automatic mode tries its API first, then uses the external relay cors.dev or cors.tools when needed. Only public resource and market URLs are sent to these services. Company parameters, manual prices and settings stay in your browser.
If network access is unavailable, open all VWAPs for the selected realm as JSON, save the response and select Import JSON. The saved or embedded snapshot works offline. Each price shows its actual data date; prices from another quality are never substituted. Saved data older than five minutes are refreshed when the page opens.
Production calculation
Time and parallel production
Each recipe is expanded recursively down to purchased inputs. Work across all production steps is added for each building type. Products made in the same building type share its capacity: Smart phones and Processors in an Electronics factory use the same equipment at different times.
Buildings of the same type are pooled by their combined levels. Mines and quarries are specialized by resource: each can produce only its selected resource, and only matching specializations share capacity. Different building types and extraction specializations work in parallel. Cycle time is the maximum workload duration across building pools; output per hour is 1 / cycle time. Production hours shows operating time and cost for each building. Total production time is the longest of these times because buildings operate in parallel; costs are summed across all buildings and include overhead.
API rates already include the current economy phase and events. Economy phases change unit labor costs through productivity; they do not change hourly wages. The company bonus is applied once and reduces production time: level-hours = quantity / base rate × (1 − bonus / 100). Extraction capacity is also multiplied by abundance. Automatic labor rate = API wages × (1 + overhead / 100). A manual rate replaces this full rate. Labor cost = building hours × labor rate × level.
The model assumes steady production with intermediate stock and work allocated in proportion to capacity. Starting from an empty warehouse, integer batches, quality research, executive salaries, construction and sales are excluded. Research uses Q0. Special mechanics such as Tree accumulation require a separate model.
What electronics factory.ods calculates
The sheet compares Smart phones (Sm), Tablets (Tab), Laptops (Lap), Monitors (Mon) and Televisions (Tel). It expands their recipes into Processors (Pr), Electronic components (Com), Batteries (Bat) and Displays (Dis), then into Aluminium (Al), Plastic (Pl), Silicon (Sil) and Chemicals (Ch).
Rows 2–13 contain rates, recipes and prices; 16–29 show per-unit inputs, labor and production cost with labor share; 32–40 and 43–51 show quantities per hour and over a period; 54–69 show costs per hour and over a period; 72–90 allocate work across production steps. Wages are set to $400 per hour.
For example, one Smart phones unit requires 16 Silicon, 11 Chemicals and 2 Aluminium, with 0.39568 hours of labor and a production cost of $466.47 at the prices in the file.
The ODS adds the durations of all steps, which is appropriate for a single Electronics factory. With several building types, total labor differs from elapsed cycle time. This HTML separates those quantities and adds current API recipes, individual wages and a Produce / Buy choice. The ODS rates match the normal economy phase with a 1% bonus after rounding; boom reduces production rates. The ODS uses different periods for quantities (8 hours) and costs (24 hours); this calculator uses one period throughout.
Game model and public APIs
Sim Companies is an economic simulation with production and trade between player companies. This calculator uses realms, companies with bonuses and overhead, building types and individual buildings with levels, resources with quality, recipes, production rates, wages and market prices. Other game entities include inventory, exchange orders, contracts, research and patents, executives and economic phases.
The game API guidelines allow GET requests at a maximum of one request every five minutes. Interfaces may change. The encyclopedia /api/v4/en/0/encyclopedia/resources/0/{id}/ and constants /api/v2/constants/core/ returned 403 when checked without signing in. A public client example also describes the exchange endpoint /api/v3/market/{realm}/{id}/; its anonymous availability was not checked here. Access to your own company profile and buildings requires a session, so company settings are entered manually.
SimcoTools publishes an OpenAPI specification. The following anonymous GET endpoints were checked:
| Endpoint on api.simcotools.com | Data |
|---|---|
| /v1/realms | Magnates (0) and Entrepreneurs (1) |
| /v1/realms/{realm}/buildings?type=production | Production building types |
| /v1/realms/{realm}/resources?disable_pagination=true | All recipes, rates and wages per level; produced_at filters by building |
| /v1/realms/{realm}/resources/{id} | One resource and its recipe |
| /v1/realms/{realm}/market/vwaps | VWAP by resource and quality with a UTC date |
| /v1/realms/{realm}/market/resources/{id}/{q}/candlesticks | OHLCV and VWAP history |
OpenAPI also lists current offer prices, company information, rankings, executives, phases, events, contests and government orders. These endpoints provide data rather than perform game actions. The SimcoTools limit is 2 requests per second. VWAP = Σ(price × volume) / Σvolume; the calculator does not treat it as a guaranteed purchase price.
The quality rule is documented in the official interface tips. Embedded snapshot date: 2026-10-26. Data refresh automatically when the page opens.
